Achievement House joins with those around the world who will celebrate Sunday December 3 as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Launched in 1992 by the United Nations, the day aims to bring meaningful change for the disabled community.
The World Health Organisation says more than 1.3 billion people experience significant disability, which represents about 16% of the global population.

The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.
It also seeks to increase awareness of gains to be derived from the integration of persons with disabilities in every aspect of political, social, economic and cultural life.
